Hi there! We can't wait to welcome you home in Canada! Do you want to live close to where all the action is in Toronto? Seconds from Bloor Street, Koreatown, the subway, parks, schools, universities, colleges, pools, rinks, ice cream, restaurants, coffee shops, museums, art galleries, pubs, churches ... everything you'd want to explore during your stay in Toronto! All within walking distance! If this interests you, then this is the place for you! Few, if any, homestays are as close as we are to the best parts of Toronto! We have one bedroom with 2 single beds available ... please continue to read for further details. You will love our home! It's clean, bright, and organized - and close to everything!! (Did I mention that already? ;-) ) We have 1 room with 2 beds available. Lots of storage space! Room has a wall to wall closet - so you get the length of 1/2 the room of closet space, 6 drawers of a dresser, plus a night table next to each bed. Desk space is available in the room. The Bathroom has lots of space - a huge tub and separate shower. Here are the options: i. Single occupancy - 18 or over $1500 per month: includes breakfasts and lunches (self-made) and dinners Monday to Thursday (made by host) *You are on your own for dinner Friday, Saturday, and Sunday - under 18: $1600 per month: includes all breakfasts and lunches (self-made) and all dinners ... dinners Friday, Saturday and Sunday will be made in advance and require student to reheat - bathroom will be private and only yours to use Advantages: You have your own space. Disadvantages: While you are here to learn and study English you are locked away in your own room and can easily chat and talk to friends back home or who speak your own language. This does not help you learn English! Also when you have your own room you alone are responsible for keeping it clean and tidy :-) ii. Double occupancy - 18 and over: $950 per month: includes breakfasts and lunches (self-made) and dinners Monday to Thursday (made by host) *You are on your own for dinner Friday, Saturday, and Sunday - under 18: $1050 per month: includes all breakfasts and lunches (self-made) and all dinners ... dinners Friday, Saturday and Sunday will be made in advance and require student to reheat - share the 4 piece bath with your roommate and again lots of space - huge tub and separate shower. Advantages: Your room mate will not speak the same language as you! This is a good thing when you are learning English! While you are here, immerse yourself completely in Canadian culture and English as much as possible every day with your roommate and with us! A roommate is also someone you can go out and do things with when your classmates aren't available or nearby - and there are lots of things to get out and do around here!! (Many students will find people they know from their country and are therefore tempted to speak their own language. They don't learn English very quickly!) Both you and your roommate are responsible for keeping your room and bathroom clean and tidy! :-) Disadvantages: Just like in a college dorm, you start by sharing a room with a stranger...but she won't be a stranger for long! Some lasting friendships result when you get to know someone you live with really well! So this really isn't a disadvantage - just another advantage to sharing a room with someone! :-) Meals: If over 18: - continental breakfast 7 days a week - bagged lunch Monday to Friday and light make-it-yourself lunch on weekends - dinner 4 days a week Monday to Thursday If under 18: - continental breakfasts 7 days a week - bagged lunch Monday to Friday and light make-it-yourself lunch on weekends - dinner 4 days a week Monday to Thursday plus warm-it-up dinners Friday, Saturday and Sunday - 11 pm curfew Meals are nutritious. Vegetarian / dairy / gluten free can be accommodated. If you'd like organic, please add an additional $100 per month. Homestay also includes - laundry: 1 load of laundry per week - towels bedding - unlimited internet I have 2 daughters aged 12 and 15, a super excited little dog named Cookie and a little bunny named Comet. We are all really looking forward to meeting you!!
